Relocation Planning
Judy Cohn Housing and Relocation Consultants (JCHRC) is a small firm with established expertise in the field of housing and relocation consultation. The director of the company, Judy Cohn, is qualified with over 30 years of managerial experience in the field of residential relocation services. The relocation projects JCHRC has worked on are diverse and numerous, some being privately developed or in conjunction with federally and state-assisted housing programs.
JCHRC has specific experience in developing Relocation Plans in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements, which are then submitted for approval by the appropriate agencies. We have experience in directing and maintaining on-site relocation offices, providing direct services to individual residents, and coordinating efforts of the developer and construction company with the relocation efforts.
Many of our projects involve using Section 8 Housing (project-based or mobil voucher) federal and state housing subsidies in order to both temporarily and permanently relocate residents. JCHRC has coordinated with local housing authorities and project owners to successfully bring each resident onto a mobile Section 8 Voucher and lease-up under the private-sector program.
We are particularly proud of the numerous project-specific rental assistance programs that we execute in many of our projects. These relocations require an intensive housing search, a cooperative working relationship with the housing authorities’ Leased Housing and Inspection departments, and complex negotiating skills to form working relationships with private landlords.
We also provide relocation program compliance audits of existing programs for our clients. This service is accompanied by a report of findings and action items and capabilities to implement those items.
During the many projects in our history, we have collaborated with local area organizations. These include property management companies, resident service coordinators, assisted living programs and providers, private real estate developers, landlords, nursing rehabilitation facilities, small property owners, resident organizations, boards of directors, community health centers, mental health agencies, elder services agencies, federal, state, city or town inspectional services, public schools, and religious organizations.
